Take A Hike

Starting today, fans of the Swedish design label Acne Studios can purchase items from the brand’s newly relaunched denim line, Blå Konst. Envisioned by the brand’s creative director, Jonny Johansson, as a stand alone line intended to complement Acne Studios’s regular collection, Acne Studios Blå Konst—which means “Blue Art” in Swedish—will offer six permanent denim styles as well seasonal offerings that include accessories, footwear, and luggage.

A highlight from the men’s collection is certain to be its must-have “Hike” boot, offered in two color-ways—purple and yellow—accented by marbled graphic designs on the shoe’s sole and heel, and accompanied with utilitarian flourishes—such as nylon laces and sturdy suede paneling—as final touches. The inspiration for Acne Studios Blå Konst’s debut collection, Johansson points out, was drawn from his time spent in the rural setting of his native Sweden. “I was thinking about what we wear in the Swedish countryside, where I spend as much time as I can,” Johansson notes, “I love the clarity of what you wear then.” Judging by Acne Studios Blå Konst’s hiker, Acne Studio is most definitely taking a step in the right direction.

Acne Studios Blå Konst will launch in all Acne Studios stores and on acnestudios.com from 6 April.  Acne Studios Blå Konst “Hike” boot ($550)
