Two cultural phenomena, Timex and Stranger Things, are reimagining nostalgia with an Upside Down twist. The iconic collaboration brings back three of Timex’s 1980s cult classic watches—Timex Camper, (40mm) Timex T80 (34mm), and Timex Atlantis (40mm)—with retro throwbacks and sci-fi-horror elements, much like the setting and aesthetic of the Netflix show. 

“With the Timex x Stranger Things collection, two cult franchises join forces to create a capsule that is intrinsic to this pop culture moment,” said Shari Fabiani, Sr. Vice President Brand Marketing and Creative Services at Timex Group, in a press statement. “Through rich storytelling and ageless design, these special edition styles proudly resurrect one of history’s most expressive decades that transcends through all generations.”

On theme with the show, the three styles emulate the watches seen on the characters, and give an otherworldly vibe. The original Timex Camper, which was sported on Lucas Sinclair, now has ominous shadows, INDIGLO® backlight and a hidden image. However, the digital watches, the Timex T80 and Timex Atlantis, have a custom alarm with the Stranger Things’ theme song, and reveal a backwards number three when the clock strikes 3:00 p.m. in lieu of the new season. These watches made their debut on Will Byers and Sheriff Hopper in preview seasons, with the new Timex Atlantis being released in honor of Sheriff Hopper.

This collection launches just in time for Season Four, Volume 1 of Stranger Things, which premiered on May 27th on Netflix. Each watch in the capsule will retail for $89 USD, and will include a “stainless-steel bracelet or fabric strap, resin case and strap, INDIGLO® backlight, customized alarm, and much more.”
