Celebrating Pitti Immagine Uomo 97, the unisex fashion label TELFAR has showed their Fall/Winter 2020 collection in the monumental Palazzo Corsini venue in Florence. Incorporating unisex designs with the principles of comfortable sportswear and “simplexity” (the label’s standard practice), the range crosses baroque ornament and silhouette with humble material and form—like a lapsed Medici on spring break in Miami Beach.

The collection features key pieces like victorian nightshirts with laced-up detailing at the chest, quilted puffers, and gem-tone velour peplums, accompanied by moto details and strap medieval armor across denim, leather, and nylon. In collaboration with author Brontez Purnell, TELFAR dreamed up the collection graphics that spotlight illustrations from Harlem Renaissance, paired with typographic profanities and redrawn by hand to feature clothes by TELFAR.
