The Complete List Of 2021 Oscars Winners

Chloe Zhao makes history with Nomadland, Chadwick Boseman wins his first Oscar, and more!

After two months of delays, the 2021 Oscars ceremony had a fairly smooth evening as the first mask-free awards show since the pandemic.

Sunday night, Chinese-American director Chloe Zhao made history as the first woman of color and second woman ever to win best director in the Oscar’s 93-year running for her film Nomadland. The film also won Best Picture, and its lead actress Frances McDormand took home her third Oscar for her starring role.

First-time Oscar winners went to Daniel Kaluuya for his role in Judas and the Black Messiah, and Yuh-Jung Youn for her role in Minari. The hairstylists of Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, Mia Neal and Jamika Wilson, became the first Black women to win Best Makeup and Hairstyling. In an upset, Anthony Hopkins of The Father took home the award for Best Actor instead of the late fan favorite Chadwick Boseman.
