After hitting the waters of Doha, Dubrovnik and Monaco, the world’s first electric boat race concluded in Miami this weekend. Thousands of celebrities, athletes and guests took to the glittering waters to enjoy the first stateside E1 race. Team owners include notable artists and athletes including Will Smith, Rafael Nadal, Marc Anthony and Tom Brady.

The RaceBird boat is the vehicle of choice for E1, an electric, speedboat that appears to hover over the water. These are designed for sustainability and high speeds. And with Miami’s high-rises as the backdrop, the energy of Formula 1 was brought to the coastline.

Actress Grace Van Patten was in attendance celebrating the race and imbibing in Bombay Sapphire and sparkling lemonade cocktails. Fitting for the scene, Will Smith entered to his celebrated song “Miami.” Cirque de Soleil provided entertainment for the event’s podium ceremony.  And as Tom Brady’s team was crowned winner of the competition, Smith showered the crowd with Champagne and Van Patten cheered.

The official title for Brady’s win was “Champions of the Water.” Rafael Nadal took to Instagram to congratulate his team and Team Brady on their win.
