This Immediate Life: The Photography Project Inspiring Creativity and Connection

Anyone, anywhere can submit a self portrait that tells their personal story and experience with quarantine and the pandemic.

With the current state of the world—majority of it still being in lockdown due to the coronavirus—This Immediate Life is a new kind of photography project that strives to keep creativity flowing and global connectedness alive. The project takes self portrait submissions from anyone, anywhere and has seen the likes of designers, creative directors, photographers, tattoo artists, musicians, nurses, biologists, service workers, stylists, producers, and more.

Mat+Kat are a New York-based duo focused in photography and creative direction, and have teamed up with the This Immediate Life collective to create a global photo series based on people’s lives in quarantine and their overall experiences with the pandemic. The duo put together guidelines for photo submissions, which you can find here, with examples below including Charlie Engman and Hillary Taymour of Collina Strada, award winning chef Danny Bowien, and Paul Bui, who is the Creative-At-Large of The Face magazine.
