Thom Browne is the latest menswear designer to shoot his shot in the world of soccer.

Business of Fashion reports that the New York-based label will partner with Spanish football club FC Barcelona as the team's official provider for "off-field tailored and formalwear uniforms" beginning this August, just in time for the 2018-2019 season.

Browne told BoF he hopes the partnership will allow him the space to showcase his versatility as a designer to an audience who may have otherwise considered his clothes aesthetically inaccessible.

“There are lot of people who see the shows, or they see me wearing the clothing, and they think it’s very narrow,” he said. “There’s a lot more to what I do than what I think people have in their head. There’s a lot more people that could wear Thom Browne than realize it.”

The three-year partnership follows an existing deal between Browne and the NBA's Cleveland Cavaliers, whom the designer dressed off-court during the 2018 playoffs. No word yet as to whether Browne's relationship with the Cavs will change due to his new contract with Barça, but we will graciously take as many pro athletes in shorts suits as we can get.
