Tommy Hilfiger and Shawn Mendes Team Up on Sustainability Focused CLASSICS REBORN Collection
Embracing the brand and singer’s shared vision of sustainability, the collection solely uses recycled and innovative materials
Embracing a shared vision of sustainability, the ever-iconic Tommy Hilfiger and Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum singer-songwriter Shawn Mendes have teamed up to present Tommy X Shawn Classics Reborn, a capsule collection, and campaign that recodes timeless classics and brings new life to prep icons. Designed using recycled and innovative materials, the collection’s campaign features the singer’s friends and family, as well as advocates for sustainability and next-generation creatives including his sister Aaliyah Mendes, author and model Maye Musk, designer Czarina Kwong and many more.
“I’m so excited to be working with my Tommy Hilfiger family on the Classics Reborn collection,” said Shawn Mendes. “The collection is so special to me because I was able to work with Tommy Hilfiger to co-create this range which includes these amazing, high-quality, sustainable versions of their most classic clothing items.”
The Classics Reborn collection presents 28 pieces of menswear and womenswear that hold modern prep at its heart, inspired by Tommy Hilfiger’s classic take on pre-90s prep. Relaxed fits and comfort are emphasized as the iconic Tommy Hilfiger designs are reinterpreted to create contemporary classics for today and tomorrow. The collection was inspired by four principles that inspire the designer and singer’s daily outlook: color reborn, materials reborn, self reborn, and community reborn. The first two principles are in reference to the use of sustainable innovation; materials used in the collection were crafts from recycled textiles such as Circulose and utilized a new technique that reprocesses fibers in order to make dye. The latter two values are in reference to a contemporary way of living; incorporating new ideas and perspectives into what we wear and surrounding ourselves with people who make you the best you can be.
Campaign images show the cast wearing a range of unmistakably Tommy pieces, including staple varsity jackets made of recycled wool blend and regenerated nylon, cardigans, button-downs and t-shirts all made with industry-certified materials including Responsible Wool Standard (RWS), Organic Content Standard (OCS) and Global Recycled Standard (GRS). At the heart of the collection is a commitment to sustainability, as is not only reflected in the materials and campaign cast, but in the brand’s commitment to design all products in a circular manner.

The Tommy x Shawn Classics Reborn capsule collection will be available on tommy.com, in TOMMY HILFIGER stores worldwide, and through select wholesale partners beginning March 15, 2023.
