Uniforme Modernizes the Traditional for Fall-Winter 2021 Collection

Simplistic design with a utilitarian edge.

Timeless is how we’d describe Uniforme’s FW 2021 collection, released today. The line was unveiled via a video presentation uploaded to the Paris-based brand’s website. Designers Hugues Fauchard and Rémi Bats devote the collection to minimalism, focusing on organic shapes and classic pieces that are as on-trend today as they will be in the future.

Serious music with house-like beats set the tone for the digital show. In their trademark manner, Fauchard and Bats play with size to update the old. The collection highlights oversized collars as the statement feature on many of the otherwise traditional pieces. To add a pop of collar, an oversized ultramarine blue-collar is added to a navy trench coat. The oversized collar is featured again in a charcoal gray varsity jacket with color-blocked white sleeves and extra-large patch pockets. Uniforme reinterprets the current sweater vest street style trend with a ribbed olive green sleeveless sweater, effortlessly tying it into the collection with, you guessed it, an oversized collar. A standout accessory of the collection is the buckleless loop belt, modernized with an extra-long tail. Lest we forget the rust-red roll-neck sweater with an extra-long neck that seemingly could double as a face mask – an of-the-moment accessory for us all.

Perhaps most noteworthy is the conclusion of the video presentation in which model, Lamine, drapes a blanket over his shoulders embellished with the text, “Slow down”, as a nod to the speed of life society has adopted during the ongoing pandemic. Uniforme establishes this ageless collection as a must-have in the contemporary wardrobe.
