When Virgil Abloh unveiled his collaboration with Ikea on a reworked rendition of the Swedish furniture purveyor's FRAKTA bag in June, rumors of an upcoming furniture collab between the two began to bounce around the echo chambers of online streetwear and design forums. The Chicago-bred designer is no stranger to collaborations, and has said that his best work is often created through artistic alliances.

Yesterday, the Pyrex veteran and current OFF WHITE creative director teased an all-new design collab between himself and the budget-friendly furniture maker, this time on a gray, black, and white oriental rug bearing the words "KEEP OFF" in Off-White's signature all-caps.

While our first concern was how exorbitantly the rug would be priced, Abloh made it clear in a Twitter stream live from Ikea's pattern workshop in Älmhult, Sweden that he's chosen to collaborate with Ikea because of their "democratic design" ethos that stresses affordability and accessibility. So, the rug and all future Virgil x Ikea collab items will lean more towards typical Ikea price points than Off White price points, though no exact figures have been released yet.

The full collaboration, which will include furniture and home accessories, is designed for "the millennial's first home," the designer explained. As of now, though, the full collection's drop date has yet to be released.
