In an announcement conducted via live-stream yesterday, Virgil Abloh is continuing to build his never-ending list of projects, collaborating with Ikea for a furniture design collection, intriguingly titled "Markerad". Abloh presented the first prototypes of the exciting collaboration, including a chair, a red doorstop, and an at-home display case.

A initiative that actively lives in the desired reach of this collection is its affordability and draw to the young and potentially broke. The chic red doorstop effectively beams aesthetic fire, especially when latched onto the leg of the sleek Shaker-style chair.  On the topic of the way millennials prize sneakers, and drawing attention to a pair of Nike x Off-White kicks, Abloh comments, "Look at the positive side of the word hype... When it’s applied to a shoe, as you can see here, they’re just sneakers. But, as you can also see here, there’s a halo."

In addition to the aforementioned pieces, rugs and shoulder bags will be produced as well. A follow-up on the progression to the prototypes will be presented on June 7 during Ikea's Democratic Design Days.
