VMAN NEWS: Baggage Claim

A trio of capsule collections and collaborations illustrate the high-flying creative spark of the Spring / Summer 2020 season.

This article appears in the pages of #VMAN43 our forthcoming Spring/Summer Issue.

This season in the world of Dior Men, Kim Jones explored the currency of memory. The collection included a collaboration with artist Daniel Arsham, whose work examines contemporary archaeology. And as part of the collaboration, Arsham created a set complete with a runway covered in pink sand and eroding letters spelling out Dior. The scenery proved to be a magnet for the Instagram lens, as did Jones’ capsule collection with fellow LVMH-brand Rimowa–namely an aluminum champagne case, available for special order. The capsule collection is built to sustain the perils of time and includes the classic Rimowa Cabin bag covered in the Dior Oblique motif. An aluminum hand case is enhanced with a removable strap, and the perfect travel companion is introduced in the Personal, an aluminum case tethered by a leather cross-body strap. Pro tip: the latter was paired with matching tailoring on the runway.

Clockwise from left: Dior Men Dior and Rimowa Cabin Bag ($4,100), Personal Clutch ($2,440 each),

and Hand Case ($3,460), available at Dior Men Boutiques.
