Both options will be equipped with the same turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine and eight-speed automatic gearbox. The 2281 model pushes out 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, allowing it to go from 0-60 mph in 6 seconds flat. The M 235i produces 301 horsepower and torque of 332 pound-feet which will get her to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds. Cmon, guys!
This car has everything. Center console gesture control? Check. Intelligent personal assistant? Check. Reverse assistance? Check. Near-actuator wheel slip limitation system? Check. Lane-keep assist and adaptive cruise control? Check and check. Both models will come in all-wheel-drive for American customers. European customers will eventually get a front-wheel-drive option. And, of course, both come with the elegant styling elements you’ve come to expect from BMS: flared haunches in the rear, a sloping roofline, frameless windows, and LED halo running lights.

The series will be available starting early 2020.
