Vroom Vroom: David Beckham Is the New Maserati Global Ambassador
The sports icon and the Italian brand kicked off their partnership with a thrilling video.
Soccer star, style icon, businessman, philanthropist – David Beckham has a lot to keep him busy. Now, get ready to add “Maserati ambassador” to that list: he and the famed Italian manufacturer have just launched their partnership with a minute-long action-infused video.
Titled “Maserati and David Beckham: two of a kind”, the clip was filmed in Miami and sees Beckham driving a red-hot Maserati Levante Trofeo – the brand’s high-performance SUV – while a virtual assistant guides him through his schedule for the day.
Beckham – who’s wearing a lively floral shirt and high-waisted pants – soon ditches the whole list of meetings and other errands to have fun making donuts with the vehicle under a freeway, embracing “the sheer joy of doing the unexpected,” as the brand describes it.
“It’s an exciting time for me to begin this partnership with Maserati; an iconic Italian brand which shares my appreciation for the very best innovation and design,” Beckham said in a press statement. “I’m looking forward to working closely with the brand at such a pivotal time in their history and continuing their growth on a global scale.”
“Maserati is driven to challenge the status quo being innovative by nature, powered by passion, and unique by design,” Maserati chief marketing officer Paolo Tubito said in the statement. “The partnership with David is the embodiment of all these values.”
