Vroom Vroom: GMC Unveils Its Newest 2022 Hummer EV Pickup Truck

The Hummer is back!? This time with zero emissions and zero limits.

GMC has just unveiled its 2022 Hummer EV model — and it looks like the company is taking a big step forward with this zero emissions, zero limits all-electric super truck.
While there have been no specifics on the truck’s torque output released as of now, the automaker said that the first edition of the Hummer will run on three electric motors that combine to push a staggering 1,000 horsepower to the EV’s four wheels. The vehicle also sports impressive mileage, utilizing a massive 24-module Ultium battery pack to give it a 350-mile range, with support for 800V fast-charging up to 350 kW — meaning additional 100 miles on just 10 minutes of charging.

Apart from its power and range, the new Hummer EV the off-roading abilities expected from the brand thanks to its fully independent suspension with adaptive air shocks that boast a height adjustment range of 6 inches. Together with 35-inch mud-terrain tires — which you can easily swap out with 37-inch ones — the electric beast will provide a fording depth of roughly two feet, and will be able to climb over vertical obstacles standing 18 inches tall.

As for the interior, GMC has decked out the new model with a range of very on-brand tech and comfort upgrades: a 13.4-inch infotainment screen paired with a 12.3-inch instrument display was added to the front console, giving you access to the automaker’s most updated version of Super Cruise. Removable roof panels allow for a more adventurous experience for those venturing outdoors, while the roof panels themselves have been constructed out of a clear material to allow sunlight in during regular cruising.

The new truck is coming next year exclusively in Edition 1 trimmings, which will be the first Hummer EVs to roll off the assembly line with the top-notch features and tri-motor setup. The price tag? $112,595 before a destination charge. The standard pickup is set to arrive in the fall of 2022 with a tri-motor setup, and in the spring of 2023, the more affordable ($89,995) trucks will come with a two-motor system. Finally, the “base” Hummer EV arrives in the spring of 2024 and will set you back $79,995.
