Want a Nintendo Switch? Make It At Home

Who ever said sold out really meant sold out?

Amid Covid-19, we’re all just looking for ways to stay occupied and sane at this point. Group video conference websites like Zoom and video games such as Animal Crossing that allow you to interact with other players, specifically ones you know personally, have been a saving grace for many who have had to isolate themselves away from their loved ones. Bring in: the Nintendo switch.

The massively popular gaming console is sold out from retailers all over, and factory shortages in China make reproduction near impossible at this time. Not looking to drop money on the gaming console’s inflated resale prices, imgur user Sarbaaz37 had the bright idea to build his own.

With spare parts he purchased from Chinese auction sights, Sarbaaz37 has proved that it is in fact possible to build your own Nintendo Switch Lite at home. The entire process set Sarbaaz37 back a cool $200 (a brand new Nintendo Switch Lite retails for roughly $200-$275 USD), and took about a month to assemble. Luckily, most of us have the time.
