Prada will unveil its Spring Summer 2022 Menswear collection on Sunday, June 20.

The teaser for the show leaves more questions than it answers. A red and white ceiling, a red pool and glistening blue pool appear with the text, Tunnel to Joy, Utopia of Normality and Urgency of Feelings.

Paired with the bright, yet somewhat mysterious aesthetics, the phrases evoke a sense of euphoria and leisure – with something else beneath it.

The Prada Fall 2021 Menswear collection designed by Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons was all about the details. Instead of telling a story, the co-creators aimed to produce sensations. And this theme may be carried into the new collection, with joy and urgency of feelings, as well as the possible reimagining of the concept of “normal”.

Intricate designs, oversized bomber jackets and gloves with pockets were just a couple of last season’s show stealers. Pastel colored pieces offset by jewel tones – with pops of neon here and there – were aesthetically pleasing and almost soothing to the eye. Visually interesting shots of the models dancing and walking through colorful doorframes showcased movement and wearability.

It will be interesting to see the elements that will be incorporated the upcoming show and the creative direction in which Prada and Simons will take the new collection.
