After deleting all of his Instagram photos yesterday, The Weeknd has announced the title of his third studio album: Starboy. The follow-up to 2015’s multiplatinum Beauty Behind the Madness also has album art already. A close look at the art, photographed by Nabil, sees The Weeknd without his signature hair. Has he shaved it off? We’ll know soon enough, likely as the singer gets photographed out with his girlfriend Bella Hadid.

Nabil has worked with a long list of collaborators including Kanye West, Anohni, FKA twigs, Bon Iver, and Nicki Minaj. Nabil and The Weeknd last worked together on the video for 2012’s “Twenty Eight.”

In his VMAN 36 cover story interview, The Weeknd talks about the inspirations behind Starboy saying, “I’ve been very intrigued by the film Amadeus. I’ll touch on my relationship with religion a little bit and how it ties into my crazy and materialistic life. I’ll touch base on some recent experiences and past experiences that didn’t make the last album. I wrote some of these songs while recording Beauty Behind the Madness. It’s like a fictional book inspired by true events.”

There is not yet a released date for the album, but a single is expected soon. Read The Weekend's full cover story interview here.
