Wu-Tang Clan

The ’90s rap collective is in talks to get their very own theme park in East Asia. If the deal goes ahead the theme park will open in Seoul, South Korea. Wu-Tang Clan will be the first rappers to have a theme park named after them. Fans have speculated that a ride/zone might be inspired by the video for their 2000 hit, Gravel Pit.

Jimmy Kang, the Vice President of Wu-Tang Clan Management is currently leading the negotiations in Korea. Kang was a promoter come club owner who befriended the group in the early ’00s before taking on the role of Wu-Tang’s VP. “They came and asked me to come up to New York City,” said Kang. “I met up with RZA, Freedom, Devine, Mook, and Krumbsnatcha. When they approached me, I thought it was unreal.”

The news comes off the back of the successful Hulu miniseries, Wu-Tang: An American Saga. The show tells the story of the group’s beginnings and struggles to stardom. Earlier this year Showtime released their Wu-Tang documentary, ‘Of Mics And Men’. Directed by Sacha Jenkins the doc featured never-before-seen archival footage and performances. The rappers also released new music during this time.

No official date has been announced yet but Kang noted that the development would take him back to Korea for the first time since he immigrated as a child.
