Y-3 Closes a Chapter in Final Release of Fall Winter Collection

Chapter 4 is story of the future, the past, and everything in between

Having dynamically assigned the city streets a uniform of tailored sportswear in the last three releases of their newest collection, Y-3, a collaborative effort of Adidas and design visionary Yohji Yamamoto, is closing off the season right with one final drop. Memories of Exotics, the concluding segment of the brand’s “20 Years: Recoded” conceptual motif, marks a textural shift in its creators’ artistic focus, producing innovative visions of the future from printed graphics to avant-garde footwear.

Memorializing the heritage of the 20-year-old brand, Yohji Yamamoto reimagines designs of the past in Y-3’s newest seasonal offering. In a juxtaposition of leopard patterns and muted tones that merges smart fashion with functional sportswear, Chapter 4 represents a unity in all things past, present, and future.

Literal interpretations of mystique with a rebellious presence, the selections are met with a bold visual campaign imagined by none other than photographer Heji Shin with creative direction from Jamie Reid. Through layers of dim light, models are capturing mid-movement in their performance-ready puffer coats and oversized, buckled silhouettes.

Men’s footwear is the final highlight of Y-3’s Chapter 4. Futuristic silver sneakers embellished with zipper details and metal hardware represent an unconventional edge to the collection, while platforms runners in cream and black invoke a more classic image. Standout selections are coated in earth tones, in the Y-3 TERREX SWIFT R3 GTX and Y-3 ULTRABOOST 22.

Availably globally between September 1 and October 15, the Y-3’s Fall Winter Chapter 4 will be available online, in-store, and via the Adidas CONFIRMED app.
