YOON of AMBUSH Partners With Luxury Champagne House Moët & Chandon

Highlighting Yoon’s creative talents and giving back to nature and our environment.

Known for her pioneering spirit as a ‘rule-breaker’, Yoon Ahn of AMBUSH is known for injecting her minimalist aesthetics into any idea or design project — be it her latest collaborative project with Bvlgari or coming up with ground-breaking, eye-catching shapes for Dior Homme’s jewelry line. And as a big fan of partnerships and collaborative projects (her recent one with UNIQLO was a big hit), the Korean-American fashion designer is now back with a partnership that leans a little bit more on the boozy side of things.

Inspired by the lush nature of the agricultural heartland she saw while visiting Epernay in Champagne country, home to Moët & Chandon since 1743, and impressed by the care that went into preserving the land and its age-old traditions, she felt compelled to join forces with the iconic champagne brand. In the end, she redesigned the recognizable bottle by changing the gold neck of the bottle to a deep shade of black that stands in contrast with a new embossed label in white — a design metaphor for a window onto a future filled with possibilities for those who dare step forward.

“I was thrilled to be given carte blanche to re-design the bottles of Moët Impérial & Nectar Impérial Rosé; it was a great challenge given their recognizable and iconic codes, but I also saw it as a great opportunity to bring my own aesthetics to these iconic champagnes,” Yoon shared. “On my visit to Epernay, I saw the devotion of the people at Moët & Chandon to nature and to their precious terroir. This inspired me to select the World Land Trust to receive the support of the House, so that together we could help preserve other terroirs around the world.”

Following the visit, Yoon also chose World Land Trust to receive a portion of the profits from sales of the limited-edition Moët & Chandon x AMBUSH bottles. An international conservation charity that protects threatened natural habitats, the chosen charity aims to halt the destruction of ecosystems and to protect habitats where rare and endangered species still survive. The momentous partnership highlights Yoon’s disruptive creative talents and aims to bring a freshness to the heritage of the Moët & Chandon. Despite being a couple-century-old brand, they still manage to connect with the spirit of its time and stand for the values that speak to today’s generations.
