Yungblud Plays a Sweet and Sexually Liberated Cupid for “Cotton Candy” Music Video

The English singer-songwriter goes the full “manic house party” vibe for his newest single’s music video.

Yungblud hasn’t ever been one to play it safe, and music is just as much a statement to him as it is a means of enjoyment. In fact, he said just as much when we spoke to him in July. No where does that become more apparent than in the music video for his newest single, Cotton Candy, off his second studio album titled Weird!

Released October 15, the video sees the singer play cupid in a mansion full of several “lovesick” people. It’s a cascade of people making out with each other and rolling around on the floor or in bed. There’s leather, multi-colored hair, tank tops, a crying woman in what is presumably a pageant dress. There’s even a trio of dancers straight out of an Austin Powers movie.

Still, it avoids delving into raunchy territory, because the entire video has a distinctly saccharine, candy-coated tone. Yungblud himself dons three looks: a cutesy red onesie, a cupid-on-a-tennis-court skirt, and a three piece leopard-print ensemble. The video ends with a statement at the end that simply reads “Sex Ain’t a Sin.”
