A-COLD-WALL* Reimagines Trekking with ROA
Debuting a new partnership, Samuel Ross and the technical hiking brand offer an urban retelling of an outdoor essential.
Teased on Instagram at the beginning of the year, London-based brand A-COLD-WALL* and Italian footwear label ROA join forces in releasing two new signature styles.
A-COLD-WALL*, the brainchild of Samuel Ross, is known for its distinctive industrial design elements in combining the engineering of complex functionality and a study of architecture, the brand uses these cues in reworking ROA’s Andreas and Minaar styles. A collaboration that “translates social themes centered around the hybridization of urban landscape and technology into wearable formats,” the two styles can be utilized for functions outside of ROA’s original intention of experimental outdoor footwear, centering the city as a landscape for trekking as well. Reflective and geometrical, the five sneakers all have applications of neon orange, green, and yellow, visual cues that contrast against A-COLD-Wall* and ROA’s medium of neutral gray and black.
The collaboration comes after the London label’s work with Converse in the Aeon Active CX Sneaker earlier this month, both collaborations reflecting a similarity in A-COLD-Wall’s intention in creating subversive footwear in unconventional landscapes.
A-COLD-WALL* x ROA styles is available on the A-COLD-WALL* website and on the ROA website in 4 different colorways: Silver/Orange, Grey/Black, Black, and Silver.
