Travis Scott Announces Plans for 2021 Astroworld Fest

The Houston based rapper anticipates 2021 Astroworld Festival

Travis Scott took to social media to announce an upcoming Astroworld Festival in 2021.

The coronavirus pandemic may have cancelled this year’s Astroworld Fest, but it seems that it may come back sometime next year. Details regarding the lineup, the time and the location for the event remain yet to be announced.

On Instagram, the official Astroworld account posted an image with the message: “THE PARTY NEVER ENDS… See you next year… at Astrofest can’t wait to turn the f*ck up! – T…. [Stay safe].”

For the past two years since its inception in 2018, the festival has taken place during November in downtown Houston across the street from an amusement park also named Astroworld. Its goal was to complement the nearby multi-purpose domed sports arena Astrodome. According to the event’s official website, Travis’ mission with Astroworld Festival is to “bring back the beloved spirit and nostalgia of the Astroworld”.

The inaugural event in November of 2018 featured Scott, Post Malone, Lil Wayne, Young Thug, Rae Sremmurd, Gunna, Houston All Stars, Sheck Wes, Metro Boomin, Trippie Redd, Virgil Abloh, Smokepurpp and Tommy Genesis in the lineup.

In 2019 the Astroworld event featured stars such as Migos, Marilyn Manson, Megan Thee Stallion, Pharrell Williams, Playboi Carti, DaBaby, Gucci Mane, Tay Keith, Young Dolph, Key Glock, the late Pop Smoke, Rosalia and Don Toliver. Last year’s “Astroworld” tour generated a cool $34.3 million.

Details regarding how the event will take place considering the current pandemic are also still up in the air. Assuming that the pandemic will be gone by then, the festival will definitely be huge.
